Nationwide has signed a new £160 million contract with BT for managed IT services.
The high street building society has sealed the seven-year deal, which will involve transferring all voice and managed data services to the company.
Included in the contract will be improved facilities for all Nationwide staff, from head office to branch level, with converged voice and data solutions being offered.
Peter Stafford, head of IT infrastructure at the building society, said: "Nationwide's growth in recent years has meant that our IT infrastructure has also had to evolve at an exponential rate to keep up with demand."
He added that the firm must now "seek the most efficient and scalable infrastructure" on offer in order to support this.
Earlier this year Nationwide signed a £300 million deal to turn to SAP for its banking technology services.
BT has recently announced it is to buy two German IT companies, Stemmer and SND, which previously formed the IT services section of net AG.
