The European Commission (EC) has decided to opt for managed IT outsourcing, awarding the contract to Fujitsu.
A four-year contract for managed IT services, helpdesk and infrastructure management has been given to the computing firm, reports ComputerWorld.
The deal will provide managed IT services to over 5,000 users and 134 offices across the world.
It has been valued at over £13 million, with Fujitsu set to supply managed IT services to the directorate general for external relations.
Fujitsu said it had won the contract because it "submitted the most economically attractive bid in terms of value for money".
Yves Schellekens, managing director of Fujitsu Services Belguim and Luxembourg, told the website: "This new contract will allow us to pursue and develop our activities among the European Institutions, which, for Fujitsu Services, represent a strategic sector of activities."
Recently the firm left the £12 billion computer programme for the NHS' managed IT services, with BT now vying for the contract, according to ContractorUK.
