Managed Blackberry services can provide benefits to businesses' communications, an industry member has claimed.
Unveiling an extension to fixed mobile convergence capabilities for supporting devices with Blackberry operating system, Ralf Ebbinghaus, executive vice president at Swyx, pointed to the advantages of employing such a system.
"Organisations will be able to improve customer relations, including sales and customer support, by extending the availability and accessibility of their mobile workforce," Mr Ebbinghaus explained.
He revealed that software such as the new SwyxMobile can allow firms to deploy a full range of managed Blackberry services, such as office-based voice mail and telephone extensions.
In other news, those using managed Blackberry services may be interested to hear Windows Live Messenger is now available on the devices, according to Hexus.
Allowing employees to communicate with each other as they would through the standard versions, the Live Messenger client also supports features such as emoticons, display pictures and group chats, while files can also be transferred using the application.
