Being able to access the internet through mobile phones will become an essential to businesses, says one expert.
CNET, a technology website, has said being able to access the internet remotely through things like managed Blackberry services will become essential to people.
Andrew Lim, mobile phones editor at the site, said this will happen because "it's convenient and it's easier than having to switch your PC on sometimes".
He added: "Although it's not a necessity right now - and I'm sure people can survive without it I think increasingly it will become one as we tie our lives more and more with the internet."
Mr Lin said at the moment it is "still questionable" whether we need mobile phones, but people respond to the new technology which arises.
Recent research from ICM Research, the London School of Economics and Vodafone found 45 per cent of people with mobiles access the internet each day on their phone.
