Karma Enduro Charity Rally India 2008
Paul Denham, CEO of OneStopClick, is taking part in the KarmaEnduro Challenge 2008, driving 2000km across southern India, helping raise funds for two charities. The first charity is Adventure Ashram, a project in India to build a hospital for people in the Palani Hill range of Southern India and the second charity is the Rainbow Children’s Charity Trust for terminally ill kids and their families in the UK. |

2000km journey acoss Southern India in 37 bhp 'Ambies'

Who & What
Paul and his co-driver Lee Stonehouse, will be driving a 1950’s style Hindustan Ambassador “Ambie”; the Indian equivalent of a London cab yet with just 37 bhp. This is no easy task as the route takes them across the Western Ghat mountain range and crosses the testing and diverse terrain of Goa, Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Commenting on the challenge Paul said, "It's going to be a fantastic adventure and an amazing challenge – I'm told this part of India is a very special place, apparently there’s nothing quite like it… but that it can become very difficult at times. Endurance is going to be essential”

Why?
Well, there are two reasons. The first is India. Having visited once in 2004, it’s a country that attacks all your senses at once and you either love it or hate it. I loved it. India has an allure all of its own and I’m hooked. Mix this concoction with the challenge ahead of us and the recipe becomes addictive. Driving for two weeks across territory that will take us through India’s tiger reserves as well as navigating the ‘back-roads’ in a car which at best can be described as handling like a ‘drunken badger’ has its appeal! This aside, it also will be highly rewarding as we are supporting two very worthwhile charities, one local in India and the other back here in the UK.
The Karma Enduro aims to raise at least £150,000 per year to help fund the building of a hospital for some of the most vulnerable people in Southern India. The people, especially the children of Southern India are amongst the friendliest, most humble, caring and happy people anywhere on earth, but in many deprived areas their life opportunities are non-existent. Many of these happy, polite and respectful people have no parents, no education and poor health. Most devastating of all though is that they have no clear plan for their future; there are no options other than to try and survive day to day.

Adventure Ashram
The Adventure Ashram project stems from the shared vision of a group of well-respected health and educational professionals in India and the UK based social enterprise Global Enduro. The Adventure part of the project's title comes from the company Global Enduro who run many spectacular adventure fundraising events across the globe and in the process have raised over £1million for charities.
